I have a mother of a preemie in Special Care who is using an Evenflo pump at
home and Symphony in the hospital. She says she gets much greater volume
with the Evenflo than she does with the Symphony, that she can't get the
Symphony vacuum up high enough compared to her Evenflo, and that the Evenflo
does not hurt. Mothers' experiences do vary with different pumps that we
consider poor vs good quality. In my experience, I saw much greater yields
in the first few days with the SMB and Lact-e than I see now with the
Symphony. I always start with hand expressing now instead of pumping
because I get so few moms pumping enough to collect with the Symphony
Preemie+. I know there are many on the list who disagree about the quality
of the Symphony, but I'd much rather use the SMB or Platinum in the
hospital.
