How about having a mother tell her story for 5 minutes of your presentation?
When my 1st was born we were seperated for unnecessary reasons for about an
hour. We had an aweful time bonding afterwards and never did get bf down
right. My next was bf right from the get-go and left to bond before Routine
stuff was done. It made a big difference.

Skip ahead a year, my MIL who is a head nurse, attends a workshop for CEU's
and they tell the nurses to put baby straight to the moms chest. She doesn't
understand all of this and can't imagine why any mom would want that or why
it could possibly make a difference as you have the rest of your life to
bond (or at least years). Would you want your baby cleaned up 1st. So I told
her that it made a HUGE difference to me and it needed to be skin to skin
not skin to towel.

So she went back to her nurses and they discussed it. They asked her why and
she said that she didn't know but it sure made a lot of difference to her
DIL(me). OK the point, my telling her why it mattered to ME and the
difference in my bonding with my sons is what stuck more in her head than
anything else. The nurses need to know that it makes a difference to the
mothers.
