I received a call today from a mom who wishes so be seen Monday morning.
Mom had been weeping eczema which is currently affecting nipples. Mom says
breastfeeding is not bothering her but she is concerned about her baby. She
is afraid the baby will be endangered by ingesting the pus that weeps from
the eczema.

I have searched the archives, Counseling the Nursing Mother, Riordan &
Auerbach and cannot find and answer. I could not find my copy of Lawrence
at the moment either. I did suggest she contact her dermatologist but she
does not think he knows much about breastfeeding.

If anyone has any definitive information on risk to the baby, I would
appreciate it.
