Sorry I am 2 days late on this. Jessica, never say never. There is no pat
answer for this, just be creative. First I would say keeping mom and baby
together LOTS and Lots if they aren't already. Since this is an older baby
mom can talk to her about the breastfeeding. Have the milk dripping and tell
the baby to drink the milk. Let it spray at her. Maybe tell the baby the
bottles are all in the wash and come here and take the milk from mommy's
nummy. Maybe use the baby's bottle nipple as a nipple shield or a regular
silicone shield, but not sure this would work. I would definitely encourage
them to try and keep trying. Then maybe they would go on past the year. Good
luck and great to have a mom like that.
