Dear all:

If Rosa Parks were trying to breastfeed her baby on the bus, would we have told her that
her mere act of sitting down where she wasn't supposed to sit, rather than complying with
the law was anything other than a courageous act that changed the civil rights of others?
Why should simply sitting down in a restaurant WITH A LAW TO PROTECT YOU be any
different. Was Rosa Parks fighting a battle that was unnecessary because African
Americans were being lynched?

Best, Susan Burger
