Hi everyone,
I thought I would post the results so far with my breast refusal case.
What Patricia suggested triggered something and I questioned
mum again carefully.I also noticed a rash on the truck of the baby.
When I asked about this she admitted to having changed her washing
powder .But thought it didn't really matter enough to mention.I thought
I had it.....I got the mum to latch the baby on-walking around the room
making sucking sounds to the baby.-It worked.But..... when the baby
became mildly agitated, the mum pulled away from the baby and
became very distressed.Further conversation revealed that she was
frightened because she is to see a psychiatrist next week and doesn't
want any more problems with the baby-she just can't cope.
I feel this case has passed from my realm of expertise, and
perhaps is not just breasfeeding management. It has been very
draining but now I can see more of the picture I feel less pressured.
Thanks lactnetters for letting me air my concerns.
