After doing way too much thinking about why women have such a hard time 
breastfeeding ("It's natural, isn't it??") I put together this essay. It 
started as a response to the piece in the Boston Globe (What I wish the 
lactavists had told me, I believe was the subtitle), and evolved from there. 
I thought it might be a helpful thing to give to moms - either prenatally, 
or postpartum when they're starting to feel discouraged. Feel free to print 
and distribute, as long as you keep my signature line at the bottom.
