Dear Friends:
48 hours ago, I posted about this mother and her 2-month old baby that
appeared to have reflux. I was able to notice more because I had just
attended the Wolf and Glass conference and my eyes had been opened!
Today, the baby has been passing copious amounts of yellow stool. No
more once a week dark "starvation" stool, that she was told was "normal for a
2 month old bf baby to poop once a week." We do hear that and say it, don't
we?
However, the baby had not gained weight. That could have been noticed
sooner.
Everything has happened as in Heaven. I call the pediatrician. He
listens, and takes me seriously. He brings mom in the next day. I also call
the Speech and Language Specialist who makes sense of my observations in
light of my new perspective.
Appointment for pediatric gastroenterologist on Monday. Apparently this
guy is good, endorsed by Speech and Language Specialist.
Pediatrician suggested 1 tsp Mylanta every once in a while. After the
first dose, baby transformed into a content, smiling little angel. Had been
worried, tense and clearly unhappy.
I am giving thanks for all these wonderful things coming together to
help this dyad. And sharing it with 3500+ of my closest friends.
     Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI, CCE, craniosacral therapy
