Interjecting a broader view and kindness...  even "doing it right" isn't a guarantee.  I have 4 kids, started my period after each at 4 months.  What a rip off!  No pacifiers, tandem nursing--you name it, I did it "right."  My body kicks in again at 4 months, period.  pun intended  ;)     We can't make guarantees to mothers, and explaining how to do whatever "right" will impose guilt on some, even if they follow all of the rules.  We need gentle, encouraging words rather than a list of shoulds and shouldn't, since clearly they aren't fail-proof anyway.   My $.02.
