Jo-Anne has an interesting thought here. Mothers do feel very alone
when they have breastfeeding problems. It's true that breastfeeding is
normal and natural, and that it usually works smoothly. But just like
some of us have problems with other organs, we can have problems with
our breasts, or we can have babies with difficulties with sucking,
latching or stamina.

We have done a good job of getting out the message that breastfeeding is
natural, now we have to get the word out that if it's a challenge, there
is help available. I think this is happening. I am seeing babies now
that mothers would not have bothered to try to breastfeed 10 years ago.
It can be a challenge to keep in mind the normalcy of breastfeeding
while pushing the envelope to help sick babies or moms with hormonal
issues breastfeed too.
