You really hit upon a truth with some families.  I heard Ann Keppler
speak on just this topic last year in Atlanta.  She said many women want
their husbands to bottle feed because they want them to fall in love with
the baby.  If the father falls in love with the baby it gives the mother
a more secure relationship with the baby's father.  I often think of this
when a mom tells me she is going to pump or give ABM 1xper day so the dad
can feed the baby.  I try to give other options for involvement, and give
out the ICEA handout "To the father of the breastfed baby" but sometimes
it is difficult to get past the emotional/mental stuff.
