Hello, Would like some feedback on a situation I am involved
in. I an an LC in a hospital,(the only one) 1000 deliveries per year.
I started our Lactation Service five years ago. Some of my duties
include daily Mom/Baby class, coordination of all pre-natal education
classes and ALL of Lactation, pump rentals, consults, follow-ups, staff
education etc. The plan for the future is to add LC home visits via our
Home Health Agency. My time would be split between hospital and Home
Health. Is anyone doing this? I have made several attempts to explain
what I do, but no one wants to listen except a few pediatricians who
totally support breastfeeding and what this service involves. If
anyone has any advice or help to give I would appreciate hearing from
you. Thank you.
