Jeannie,
Have worked with several mom's who have problems with their gall bladder
which required surgery and removal.  None of them had to wean or d/c
breastfeeding.  Their biggest problem was making sure they had pumped enough
for their little one to have something to eat during the surgery and
subsequent short post-op recovery - a few hours at most.  It would be
incumbent upon the physician who decreed 'no breastfeeding' to show cause why
this is an issue for her baby.  She is obviously functioning fairly well, or
they'd have yanked it out as an emergency procedure by now, I should think.
