I have tried to cost it out on a number of occasions. The bottle
feeding moms I have talked to all say a six month old goes through at
least 3 cans of formula a week, at $10-$15 per can. If you use this as
the average amount of formula for a whole year for an infant (assumming
a newborn uses less and a 12 month old more) then the cost of formula
alone is $1560-2340 per year. A dozen bottles and nipples at $3-5 each
is $36-60.

I hope this helps.
