I understand your position, but this is the kind of thing I find
frustrating. Physicians - even pediatricians - are not gods!! They can be,
and sometimes are, WRONG. They are able to give medical advice, based on the
training and information they have - but that does not mean that we have to
follow their advice or recommendations. We all have the right to make our
own decisions about what we want to do.

Would you feel comfortable saying something like that to a mother? Reminding
her that she needs to consider her physician's recommendations, plus any
other information she gathers from other sources, and then make her own
decision about what she wants to do.
