Dear Julie,
Thank you for your dedication in helping this family with such a difficult start
with their baby. It seems like you have received lots of wonderful advice and
that you have been able to take steps in regards to solving the challenges
this baby is presenting. Just to comment: both of my sons were born with a
hand up next to their heads. Their heads were also positioned to the side.
Early on I could tell that they favored gazing to one particular side. They
were fussy and gassy most of the time. I did the elimination diet of dairy but
found that chiropractic care also helped them and I quickly noticed an
improvement in their head/torso alignment. My chiropractor is also a
nutritionist who values holistic/homeopathic treatments and started me on
some enzymatic tinctures for digestion. My sons' both responded well and
became less fussy infants. They primarily exhibited the typical evening
fussiness that newborns exhibit. I found their latch to the breast improved
and they seemed more relaxed.

Sincerely,
Katja B. Stahr-Long RN, MN, IBCLC
