Hello all, I'm delurking to say wow and hi, and thanks. I'm Trish K, in
OKlahoma City, a Leader applicant with LLL, and an avid student of all
things related to breastfeeding. What a tremendous resource this list is.
again, wow.

Melissa, your client sounds like me. My second child came at 36 weeks,
had aspirated amniotic fluid, was "grunting" and in respiratory distress,
and then developed a pneumothorax, during our 4 day NICU stay. I was
pumping very regularly since I wasn't allowed to nurse her until 3 days
postpartum. I had a great stash of frozen colostrum and very yellow thick
early milk, and since my toddler was (and still is) nursing as well, my
milk came in pretty quickly. Once we began to nurse, I didn't want to
sabotage it by offering a bottle, even though it was liquid gold.

I waited a couple of months, and then regularly thawed a bag about every
other day until it was gone. As much as I hated to offer her a bottle, I
didn't want it to go to waste.

It's good stuff, I'd certainly encourage her to get it into the baby!
