Hi Germaine,
These 2 nipples are designed to work by compression so the babies with a
cleft defect can obtain a feeding. I have never seen a study looking at sucking
on these nipples to see how well they work. From conferences I have
attended that talked about these nipples, the speakers are concerned that babies
given these nipples will only compress them to obtain the milk and not correctly
learn to suck.
For the purpose you stated in your note for needing these nipples, I would
try a slow flow nipple and use "paced bottle feeding" with these babies. This
is what all parents and nurses should be taught.
The haberman and pigeon nipples are also expensive.
I hope that helps.
