I don't know if this works in other programmes but in Outlook and 
Mozilla (and I suspect most others?) you can move your mouse over the 
person's name (it'll be the "from" line) and then secondary click (right 
click for most, if you're a lefty and you reversed your mouse buttons 
like I do, then it's left click) on their e-mail address.  You'll get 
some options such as adding them to your address book or composing a 
message to them.  You select "compose message" and voila - new window, 
just that individual and not copying/pasting needed or no need to 
manually type in their address.  I get individual e-mail on this list so 
I'm not entirely sure how the messages show up in the Digest form but it 
should still work there too - you should still have a live link to their 
e-mail address in the header of their post.  HTH.
