The "ad" Lucy was talking about was called "Tru-Breast" and is presented as
"A revolutionary new method of infant feeding! It's ready in an instant!
Less work for mother!" It had a simple drawing of a breast, with lines
pointing to all the "patented features" like "Lul-a-bye sound unit. Baby
hears same soothing heartbeat he or she has grown accustomed to. While
nursing, baby is lulled to sleep." The whole thing is a spoof of product
marketing, while making some very good points about the advantages of
breastfeeding with gentle humor that is sure to evoke smiles. The paper
copies I have are quite old. On one of these it is attributed to former La
Leche League leader Margaret Nelson of Brooklyn, NY.

Rachel Hamlet, who used to be on Lactnet, adapted this ad some years ago and
you can find it on her web site at

There is order information listed there. Rachel made a new illustration to
replace the original, but it shows milk sinuses in an anatomical depiction
of a breast. This doesn't conform to Peter Hartman's new drawings of the
breast. I preferred the simple sketch that went with the original
Tru-Breast ad. Still, you can read the text that went with the ad at
Rachel's site.
