Dear LactNetters,

I have been collecting Arabic-language breastfeeding information and I
have formed a website at http://www.arabicbreastfeeding.info with links
to everything useful that is currently available on the Internet. In the
next few months I will be scanning and uploading a few other off-line
pamphlets and starting this summer my husband and I will be translating
some La Leche League pamphlets into Arabic.

I would like to request a tiny bit of technical assistance from you all.
All of our computers run Arabic-enabled Windows and I have not been able
to ascertain if computers not running Arabic-enabled Windows can see the
Arabic fonts in the .pdf documents linked at the website. If a few
people could visit my site and try to open a file, then email me with the
kind of operating system you're running and what your results were I
would greatly appreciate it. Also if some Mac users could also
participate so I can have the broadest idea about the accesibility of the
website, I'd also appreciate that.

I'd also like to request that if anyone has any printed breastfeeding
information in Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Turkish, or Farsi (Persian) kicking
around I also would like to help by collecting them and finding people to
review them for accuracy and suitability. (I do have the Turkish
pamphlets that correspond to the Arabic pamphlets from the Australian
government on "7 Helpful Hints..." and "Working and Breastfeeding".)
Many people automatically assume that people from Muslim countries speak
"Arabic" when in fact they speak something else, so I'd like to have
whatever else is available that I could offer to such a person instead of
having to turn them away.

Thank you!
