Thanks to many of you who responded so wonderfully to my post RE: the
nurse-in. I'm not sure where the notion that LLL is organizing this
evolved from, so I will clearly state for the record, LLL had absolutely
nothing to do with organizing this.

In fact, I was contacted by a very well respected IBCLC in our community
and we are planning to present a peaceful, non-confrontational,
professional event. We plan to purchase some juice and sit at a table
and proceed to quietly, discreetly, and proudly nurse our babies. Many
of the mothers involved were very instrumental in successfully lobbying
for the new law in our state which protects a woman's right to nurse in
public. WE intend to do just that.

I was very interested to see that there are differing views on the
effectiveness and validity of a nurse-in. Thanks to all of you for
sharing your ideas, suggestions and concerns with me. I'm constantly
enlightened.

Heidi S. Roibal in New Mexico where people wearing just exercise bras
can violate health codes by drinking juice in a shop which has a no
shirt, no shoes policy for refusing service, yet a discreetly
nursing-covered-up-with-a-blanket new mother can be asked to leave.
