Sue Jacoby wrote about the lack of attachment parenting including
breastfeeding being a contributor to juvenile crime. I would like to add
that I agree wholeheartedly with this. I am glad there are others in the
world who see it this way. I think it applies to all parents, not just teen
mums - although they would be particularly vulnerable. My family are sick
of me carrying on about this every time there is something on TV about what
to do about juvenile crime. It is a similar situation in Australia as US,
maybe not quite so bad yet. By "attachment parenting" I mean breastfeeding
and meeting the needs of babies without resort to "controlled crying" type
methods, lots of separation, etc - ie the sort of parenting styles promoted
by LLL and NMAA.
