Jack, the fine line is actually a tightrope walk for people whose legs don't
work. In a just and kind world what you are saying is true. But we don't
live in that world.

Taking money from Nestle or any other multi-national corporation is like
borrowing from your local loan shark. Sooner or later, ya gotta pay it back
and with interest. I believe it is a mistake to believe that anyone will be
allowed to walk the fine line with Nestle or Ross or Wyeth or Mead Johnson or
Cow and Gate or any other similiar company.

I do not disagree with your assessment of the WHO Code. The Code is just a
model for marketing practices and if companies abide by that Code, then that
would not prevent a hospital from receiving Baby Friendly status. But Nestle
has never abided by the Code and in all liklihood will never abide by it. I
believe these companies have waged a quiet campaign to sabotage
breastfeeding. I think studies have been deliberately suppressed. They own
some of the patents to human milk components. So I don't feel particularly
comfortable with any organization or person that accepts their money. It's
money based on the blood and tears of mothers and infants world-wide.
