Permission to post:

this mom just had her period return about 7 months postpartum (baby recently
started sleeping through the night, and started solids, so there you go). The
baby is much less interested in nursing, or in pumped milk in bottles - seems
like the taste is putting her off. It doesn't appear to be a supply issue (mom
pumps at work and is still pumping her usual amount, and she is feeling full
when baby nurses less time than usual). I did find a reference to changes in
taste of milk during menstruation (http://www.breastfeed-
essentials.com/menstruation.html), but I am curious:

1) is this common?

and

2) how long the mom can expect this to last

and

3) do you think this phenomenon will happen every time she gets her period,
or just with this first postpartum period?

thanks!
