I received this email today and would to help this mom.   I am stuck.

I apologize for writing about this.   I've been waiting for the Tuesday
evening BF chat, but have not seen it up in a few weeks :-)

I had previously asked you if nausea, diarrhea and severe cramping (for us to
4-5 days) during the middle of a menstrual cycle is normal for Moms of
extended BF children.   I believe you advised me that it is not uncommon and to see
my Gynecologist.

I have finally gone to see my Doc, after several months of suffering.   I was
very discouraged, but not particularly surprised, by his advise.   He
dismissed my concerns about hormone levels and the severity of my symptoms and told
me that as long as I was nursing, my hormone levels would be disturbed.

He advised me to see an Internist about the diarrhea and offered to prescribe
birth control pills.   I feel that was done (he knows I am single and not
sexually active) in hopes of affecting my milk supply and causing my daughter to
wean or partially wean.

I have no plans of weaning my daughter, but would like to know if there is
anything that I can do to ease these symptoms.   I have been almost
incapacitated by these symptoms each month.
