Dear Lactnet,
I just got a call from a client with a one week old that reports her milk
smells like "body odor." She noticed the baby's face and breath smells like
this and expressed some milk and it did too.
I archived under "smelly milk" "odor in milk" etc and found a post from
Barb Berges that is almost identical but could not find any responses.
She has not eaten or drank anything different, nor is she on any meds
other than PNV. Stools are normal, no spitting. Weight is great.
Mom is young and bouncing back after a rough start........I do not want
this to derail things. Any explanations?
TIA,
Jan Ellen Brown IBCLC
