Hi, Have a question for you all (or y'all as we say here in Texas!!!!) i am
working with a 1 wk old male that appears to have a "tight" upper lip. Top
lip does not stay flanged on breast or bottle unless we really keep working
at popping it out. Mom had same trouble with first child and stopped nursing
due to pain and poor weight gain. Tongue is fine, frenulum not too short or
too tight. ANY ideas would be most helpful!! I spoke to a pedi dentist and an
endo to see if clipping under the top lip would help. ( my sons was clipped
at 16, his front teeth would not stay together because the cord came down so
low) The childs pedi wants info by monday, HELLLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!! Looking at
this child from the side profile shows a normal lower lip and a top lip that
looks rather flat! TIA Denise G Hewson RN IBCLC Katy, Tx
