Dear Wise Ones, A mom pregnant with her second baby is in the hospital
isolation ward with viral meningitis, and she has gone into labor. Fever
started Sunday morning, this is Tuesday night. May she nurse the baby if it
comes tonight? I do not know if the fever is still present, only that the
mom is already feeling better. Search of the archives wasn't much help,
except for one note from Dr. Newman that a mom with viral meningitis could
nurse [her 8 month old], if she was up to it (October 1997).
Dr. White? Dr. Newman?
Thanks in advance,
Rowena Tucker IBCLC
