Hey Pat, you said: 'OK Magda, next week I will do DISADVANTAGES OF FORMULA'

Even I can see that that might annoy some people in your class -- how about
doing DIFFERENCES betwen breastfeeding and mixed or replacement feeding?
(and incidentally getting in that there are these two catagories -- and
informing the class participants that there is such a thing as exclusive
breastfeeding and it is possible and is different from mixed feeding.)

BTW, I think this exclusive vs mixed (at all ever) breastfeeding is going to
become a big issue for us. If the Coutsoudis results are confirmed and we
are in situations where we might be supporting women who *need* to
exclusively breastfeed how are we gonna talk about it from antenatal class
onwards? And yeah, befroe you all hit the reply button, I *know* that
exclusive breastfeeding makes absolute health differences to all babies, but
the HIV thing is such a powerful emotive force in our socities at the
moment, it will create its own imperative (I don't think Jack's musings this
week were too out of line).

I am divided as to whether I think this might be a good thing or not, but it
is an interesting idea that the HIV crisis might highlight the difference
between exclusive bf and mixed feeding. (Unless HIV kills breastfeeding off
completely).
