Breastfeeding in Norwegian is 'amming', and the verb 'to breastfeed' is
'amme' which rhymes with momma. One word for lady is 'dame' as in French,
only it is a true two syllable word in Norwegian and rhymes approximately
with 'amme'.
Put them together and you get 'amme-dame' which even small children can say.
The word 'consultant' or 'konsulent' in Norwegian has strong negative
connotations so we never call ourselves that. Never!

earthmother (Norwegian word for midwife is 'jordmor', literally
'earthmother' - and it is a legally protected title!) and ammedame in
Kristiansand, Norway
