Hi! Need some suggestions, thoughts, comments.
Got a call from a nurse-friend. Her daughter had a baby 3 weeks ago.
Data: Baby latched well after birth and for the first few days.
Breast reduction in one breast 4 years ago.
BW 7lbs 4oz; 5 days-6lb4oz; 14 days- 7lbs; 17 days -7lb; 21 days- 7lbs
1oz (on ped scale) and 7lb 4oz on hospital scale.

Baby nurses for 1 hour, then sleeps 15 min and is awake screaming. This
goes on all day. Has one period during the night in which the baby sleeps
for 3-4hours. During the day, baby cries a lot except when nursing. Her
doctor is very concerned about the weight gain. Suggested that she pump and
supplement. She got a pump and easily pumped 2oz from each breast.

The grandmother thinks the baby is lactose intolerant because the
mother(daughter) was lactose intolerant(whatever that means) as a baby and
is today.(Although the gr-mother told me the mother drank milk today.)
Also, this woman did not gain much weight during the pregnancy-weighs less
now than before being pregnant. Is not eating much.
Baby has at least 6 wet diapers, and at least 4 yellow bm's.

Suggested eliminating all dairy, pump after feedings and give hindmilk with
SNS.
And suggested ways to increase calories. Am I on the right/wrong track?
Suggestions? Thanks!
