Nancy,

This is fascinating! I have some questions: Was this research done
with high-order primates? Has this proven true in human observation as
well? In your observation of babies do you see more babies with
breathing problems that are c-section babies or more problems with
vaginal births?

What about studies showing that C-section kids are more likely to have
asthma? ADD? etc? Are c-section kids more likely to get formula and
this is why their other problems exacerbate?

Is it perhaps meds received during the c-section and not the c-section
itself---same meds that would likely be used during an interventive
vaginal birth? Have they studied forceps or vacuum extraction where
the baby would move more quickly than usual and compared it to
non-interventive vaginal birth?

I'm not going to advocate for interventive vaginal birth or elective
caesarean birth, but I definitely want to hear what researchers are
finding.

Very curious,
Katie
