LOL!  Although the image of a doughnut with its hole in the middle is an
unfortunate choice, I *think* what she's talking about is the same thing
I've seen Linda Smith and others demonstrate... only Linda uses a fake
hamburger.  :)  This ex-midwife-now-breastfeeding-counselor-to-the-stars
was, I believe, trying to say that the breast needs to be flatter rather
than rounder for latching... with the "doughnut" or "hamburger" held in
the same direction as the line of the baby's mouth.  Gosh... this is so
easy to demonstrate in person but hard to describe in words!  LOL.

As for the shoving... I agree with you that that isn't exactly the way to
get a reluctant or unsure baby to cooperate with latching.
