Make sure mom's thyroid replacement level is high enough. She could
have changes in her needs over the course of the childbearing year. I
would also get this baby's development checked. Does mom have access to
a developmental clinic, or an occupational and physical therapist? I'd
also concentrate on high calorie solids, lots of meat if baby will take
it. I certainly would not rush to formula with an 11 month old.

Can the nurse do pre/post weights to see if the baby is breastfeeding
well, and mom is making a good supply of milk? If baby is getting milk
well, perhaps there is a metabolic problem. Undiagnosed metabolic
disorders often cause both developmental delays and low/no weight gain.
