Australian lactnetters might want to read this week's winning
"Talking Point" letter on page 75 in New Idea (20/1/96). It is
supposedly written by a bottefeeding mother. She won a $105 bottle
of perfume for her letter, which may help when changing those
non-breastfed nappies!

The letter is the most sophisticated attack on the WHO Code I have
ever seen from a member of the public. This mother is better
informed on the Code that most health professionals, and even claims
to attend mother support meetings to learn about countries where the
law requires bottles to be hidden under the counter and "must be
purchased furtively like condoms once were". Sorry lactnetters, she
does not disclose where this utopia is.

It would not surpise me if the letter has industry links,
because of the way it is written. She is too well informed on too
many aspects, from a consistent perspective. I don't doubt that
there are genuine people who feel "scorned" for bottlefeeding (in
Australia anyway). She is just not one of them.

Do ghost writers wear perfume?
