poor denny! looking for a hospital located in 1999, well, sorry to say, but
even the hospital here, where the milk bank is in the BASEMENT, gives out
formula without ever asking if the parents would prefer donor milk. but here
is one last ditch idea, if the mother could (or you) convince the neo to call
the milk bank for information.

for instance, have one of the doctors connected with the austin milk bank be
the contact. you could even put it this way, if there IS some reason the
mother should not be giving donor milk to her babies, perhaps it would be
best to clarify these reasons, as she "just doesn't understand." so, if he
calls the milk bank, describes the situation the babies are in, and "gets
information" from them, maybe the mother will accept the information.

this gives the milk bank person a chance to talk to the doctor. they do this
here and usually are quite convincing about the reasons donor milk is okay.

its worth a shot. at this point, anything is. also, if the baby has another
doctor, the other doctor could prescribe. that is, if there are any other
neonatologists, the parents could perhaps consider switching care?

good luck.
