Well, I wrote a letter to United after reading the message on December 14 in
Lactnet. I received the following reply:

Dear Ms. Panchula,

Thank you for contacting us. Due to recent high travel volumes, we are
experiencing a delay in responding to our valued customers.

We are happy to clarify United's and SkyWest's policy regarding
breastfeeding. The only time a flight attendant should ask a passenger to
stop breastfeeding is when the activity presents a safety hazard to the
mother, child, or other passengers. If we receive a complaint from
passengers about a mother who is breastfeeding, we will attempt to make
everyone comfortable by offering the mother a blanket for her privacy and/or
moving the offended passenger(s) to another seat, if possible. However, if
the situation cannot be resolved in a manner that makes everyone
comfortable, then the other passengers simply have to live with their
discomfort, as we respect the rights of the nursing mother.

The flight attendant has been re-educated and, in addition, follow up
training material is being provided to our entire in-flight group so that
all flight attendants are reminded of our policy regarding breastfeeding.

Please know United is committed to refining every aspect of our service and
making your travel comfortable and enjoyable. Your feedback is valuable to
us, and I will share your insights with our management responsible for the
issues you raised.

We appreciate this opportunity to respond and look forward to serving you.

Regards,

Ed Khurana

Now, I would like to offer to provide them with "follow up training
material" .anyone have anything already in the works?
