Thanks for all the suggestions I received for this baby. The first one she
tried worked. She got into a whirlpool tub and the baby went right to the
breast and nursed for 30 minutes. However, the next day she was diagnosed with
Ocular Herpes. She is on eye drops every 2 hours (trifluridine 1%
opth/solution) brand name Varoplic. She called 2 LC one told her it was fine to continue
nursing the other said no and to pump and dump.

I'm going to find out from Dr Hale if these meds are ok. Since they are only
going into the eye I don't see any reason for this to pass thru to her
breastmilk.

She stopped nursing Wed evening, and has been pumping and dumping to keep up
her supply. She has at least a months supply of breastmilk in the freezer.
Baby is now 8 months old.

I'm hoping that we can get this baby back to the breast again. Mom is a
trooper and is willing to keep trying.
