Mary,

I've worked with moms with Raynaud's and what seemed to work well for all was
applying heat and covering the nipple right after nursing so air does not
chill the nipple; a heating pad, hot water bottle, or rice in a sock that's been
microwaved and brought to couch with mother and baby before nursing begins, so
it's not too hot by application time. Also a couple moms spent the money on
wool nursing pads and loved them, especially one mom who experienced a brief
bout of vasospasm post nipple damage/compression. She was in excrutiating pain
in the winter mornings when she had to take older sons to the bus, but found
she was pain free using the wool pads. In this country one company,
Motherwear, among others sells them (I have no connection to this company). Hope this
is helpful.
