Hi all,

There is a show on CBC tv called "Spilled Milk" which addresses a lot of
parenting concerns, often in a humerous light. The most recent episode
(although a repeat) caught my ear with a blurb about breastfeeding and
why is the cover of Cosmopolitan and various other sexualization of
women's breasts ok but breastfeeding in public is still often frowned
upon. They talked to several women who had negative experiences with
being asked not to breastfeed, in their own home, in the hospital, and
out in public. They also sent a woman "undercover" with a hidden mike to
several restaurents to ask if it was ok if her baby needed to nurse. One
said no, it was against city by-laws!!!!, one said no problem, and the
last, a well known tea room in Victoria, BC said ok if she was discreet.
All in all a very positive piece, many shots of women nursing babies.
