I have a sinking feeling that I have been in "the business" (as my son
refers to it) too long. Sunday afternoon, I served as narrator for a
special music concert put on at my church. In the course of one of my
narratings, the word "breast" came out instead of "best." The senior
pastor's wife stopped me after theshow was over to ask if I knew what I had
said (she is a former LLL leader; we chat about breastfeeding and things
lactational during choir practice in the back row of altos), giggling a bit
as she mentioned it. I had NO IDEA I said it!

Is this one of those occupational hazards we must all guard against? (A
couple of other people whom I dared to ask said they heard it too and
wondered where my brain was.) Honest--I was NOT thinking about work, nor
was I staring at some woman's body between waist and neck!

Anyone have a suggestion for avoiding such inadvertent faux pas' in the
future? :-)

PS The concert was wonderful. I was privileged to be among the 10 women who
did the first performance of a new piece of music written especially for
us! What a joy that was!

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
