Just a few administrative notes:

1. please keep the notes shorter...the ones that go on for several
paragraphs are difficult to get through at times. I believe that many people
delete the really long ones, so if you want good response, shorten it up.

2. As a clarifier, the list facilitators of Lactnet are not responsible for
anything that is posted on Lactnet other than our own statements. When
making statements, choose your words carefully, and think before you speak.
Remember, you are responsible, and should only put those words ( on Lactnet)
that you wish to have printed in the NY Times. Read and abide by the
welcome message.

3. The listserv software has an automatic system whereby full mailboxes, or
email addresses that are not working are automatically deleted by the
listserv computer, ie LSoft's in our case. Their computer takes care of 95%
of the errors automatically. Although we as listowners have list
facilitating capabilities, ie we can change options for people, etc, we do
not do so on a regular basis.

If you find that your subscription is deleted, it is most likely due to
error on your server, etc, ...the computer finds your address as problematic
somehow,...your mailbox is full, or down, etc. If this happens, your
subscription will be deleted. As we state in the message that goes out at
this point, this is merely a function of one computer talking to another. We
do not make it a practice to delete subscribers on any other basis, unless
they are problematic to the list in some other way. If this occurs, (and it
only has once in 4 years,) we would inform you at that time.

We do not, as facilitators of a very large list (2500 Subscribers +)...have
time to worry about the errors that occur in your mail systems. That is why
these are handled automatically.

4. Use respected resources to verify recommendations made here, or anywhere
( in meetings, conferences, etc) before you incorporate these into your own
practice. Use common sense, and check things out. Good advice for us all,
whether we are at a conference, or a colleagial meeting, or in the workplace.

Kind regards, and continue to enjoy...

Kathleen
