There should be no junk with this post to lactnet.  If there is, blame Carol
Brussel.

There is no such thing as gentian violet that is not in 10% alcohol.
Because it does not dissolve in water.  However, the amount of alcohol the
baby would get from *proper* use of gentian violet is not worth worrying
about.  The pharmacist is out to lunch, or had too much wine with his lunch.
