I just had an "AHA" moment.

It wasn't until my third child that I discovered the joys of arnica gel.  It
is applied to bumps and bruises (the kind that learning-to-walkers always
get), to reduce swelling and bruising. I tell moms that every diaper bag
should have a tube.  [Pop culture trivia:  Catherine Zeta-Jones said she
used it every night while filming "Chicago," to soothe those dance-wracked
muscles.]

Arnica can also be taken internally as a homeopathic pill.  A friend who had
her four wisdom teeth pulled at age 47 took arnica pills for several days
before and after the procedure, and applied the gel on her cheeks and jaw on
the few days surrounding the operation.  Her dentist was amazed, seeing her
for her post-operative check, at how little swelling she had.

SO -- has anyone suggested that a Mom use arnica gel on her breasts for
swelling associated with lactogenesis II?  How about for that mom who is
having the breast surgery, and was concerned about swelling?
