It has been my experience that mothers who are put into a room with
bottle-feeding mothers might have a very negative approach to breastfeeding.
I have seen numerous mothers change from breast to bottle after one night of
"cluster" feeding - even after explainations are given. I commented on
this and was shouted down by a few of the staff saying that I was
over-reacting - I had objected to a breastfeeding Mom going in with a
bottle-feeding Mom. Has any research been done on this?
Can anyone give me input? Has anyone else experienced this? You are
welcome to e-mail me.
Sincerely,
Barbie Currie. RN RM. White River, Mpumlanga, South Africa.
