Pat (from SNJ) says,

<< I haven't got a clue why,
just maybe that boys aren't as neurodevelopmentally dev as girls at birth
and it doesn't take much to screw them up. >>

I read somewhere, a long time ago (or heard at a conference) that baby boys
are born at least a month behind girls wrt motor skills. And bf is a motor
skill. I agree w/ you Pat -- it's those little boys that get goofed up every
time. And it is my Timothy that is the reason I'm an IBCLC. Also in
Crowell's 1994 JNM article she noted that it took baby boys almost twice as
long as baby girls to establish effective feeds.
