Magda,

My daughter developed swollen breasts with bleeding from the nipples at
6 months. The pediatrician ha no ideaa what was going on, so she sent
us to a thoracic surgeon at Children's Hospital in Detroit. He told me
that it was due to my hormones in the milk. He strongly cautioned me
not to let anyone biopsy her breast for any reason until she was at
least 18, as this would cause severe deformity to her (as well as affect
her ability to breastfeed) when her breasts developed at puberty.

After about three weeks of the swelling and bleeding, it disappeared
just as suddenly as it came on.

To address the lactose intolerance again, I realized that I made it
sound like baby could be intolerant to mom's milk. I know this is not
so, and stand corrected. Thanks for clarifying what I had difficulty in
properly explaining.
