Barbara's question about prolactin receptor cells is interesting.  I'd like to know, too.  A very old edition of Williams Textbook of Endocrinology suggests that some individual women's breasts are more sensitive to prolactin, even at normal levels, resulting in galactorrhoea.  This is in women who are not currently breastfeeding a baby - it's in a subsection on inappropriate lactation.  This obviously would indicate the existence of prolactin receptor cells in the breast.
   This whole area appears to be subject to a good deal of individual variation, and there is always so much to learn, becasue of this, as well as the new research.
