Re : Nasalcrom

Nasalcrom is an incredibly safe product, and we use it in
pediatric patients all the time. It's used ophthalmically, nasally, via
inhalation, and even orally.

Nasalcrom contains cromolyn sodium which is a mast cell stabilizer
used for nasal, and pulmonary allergies. After inhalation in the lung,
only 7% of the dose(which is very small) is even absorbed in the blood
stream. After oral administration only 1% of the dose is absorbed. So the
answer is that cromolyn sodium is no problem for a breastfeeding mother.
First her plasma levels will be exceeding small, if any. Secondly, even if
minuscule amounts did get into breast milk, less than 1% is going to be
orally absorbed by the infant anyway.
